not quite mexico -- yet

I'm not certain what just happened, but the entire post for today disappeared.  As did my draft in Windows Live Writer.

Rather than recreate it, I will simply pack for my flight to Manzanillo tomorrow.

Is Hurricane Bud passing close to Melaque?  Hope the weather in Bend is better than in Portland.

I am in Salem today.  The sun is shining.

Bud is suppposed to hit the Melaque coast just about the same time my plane arrives on Saturday.

It was a very sad moment.

Maybe it will blow you off course! Yes, it looks like it will make landfall right near your house. Maybe a few more days in Bend?

Unless I get news the flight down would be futile (road closures and the like), I plan to fly in the morning.  There is, of course, the possibility that I will end up stuck in Los Angeles.

Or at ZLO airport if there's floods and road closures, which have possibly started...

Steve Cotton said...

If the airport is cut off (as it was after Jova), the airlines will stop using the airport until the roads are opened.  I have spent enough time as Tom Hanks in Terminal on this trip.

The airline, of course, will take no risks.  Who knows where I will end up.

I may get back up to Oregon later this summer.

And I will soon be in Melaque -- Bud allowing.

Steve I read your blog this morning, how you sat in the back of the plane, 2 seats because the one next to you was vacant, good meals not burgers, comely but veiled attendants, & Air Isreal plane parked next when you landed. Hey, I scored a limited edition, cool.

Did you know that if you run a Windows CD backwards it plays satanic messages?  Even worse, if you play it forwards it will install Windows.

I think your problem may be Windows Dead Writer.

Steve Cotton said...

I have never harbored ill will for Microsoft.  I cannotsay the same thing for Google today.

Steve Cotton said...

 You did indeed.

Do  you care to expand on your issue with Google?  Just curious...

The Blogger application has been acting up over the past week or so.  Today's lost post was merely the latest example.  Live Writer merely copied what Google told it to copy.

Bill_Gates said...

I don't publish a blog, and therefore have no experience with Blogger or Live Writer.  But I assume the Live Writer application resides on your computer and uploads your text and formatting to Blogger.  If that assumption is correct (and it may not be), why is your work no longer saved in Live Writer?

Steve Cotton said...

Live Writer publishes as a draft to Blogger.  When it publishes, the draft synchs with the published page -- assuming I have decided to keep it as the published product.  When Blogger changes, so does Live Writer.  I could solve the problem by saving a copy as a non-published draft.  I will do that in the future.
