up in the air
My oft-vaunted (and, some would say, flaunted) promise to return to Mexico is at hand.
If all goes as planned, I will be getting on an airplane at Portland Airport in about 20 minutes. And later this afternoon, we will set down in Cancun.
A blogger friend and I will then head over to the Latin American Bloggers' Conference -- and we will then spend a week touring Mayan ruins, colonial churches, and post-modern eateries. We will be covering the Yucatan world.
But you know all this -- other than the fact that I am actually heading back to Mexico.
To my friends in The States who urged me to stay, I have one request. Come on down! I will show you a great time.
And now for the ironic twist. I have no idea when I can next post -- even at the bloggers' conference.
But if you hang in there with me, I will be back.

If you make your way to the Tulum area it would be great to meet up. The beaches here are to die for and we have gret ruins.
Defiantly go to Coba- it is the only ruin site in Mexico that you can still climb and they will be stopping that soon.
It is really amazing. I hope I get to see you. Wish I could have come to the Latin Blogger Conference. Gotta watch the kiddos.
well, by the time you get this you will already have arrived in mexico. hope you had a safe trip and that you are having (or had) a great time at the bloggers' conference. which blogger are you traveling with?
take care,
teresa
I hope you have a good time meeting all the other bloggers and seeing another part of Mexico. Post lots of pics from the Conference! And try and be safe and don't break/bend/beat any body parts.
God Speed Brother....
Though I only know you through your blog you can expect a knock on the door one of these days from nwexican and wifey (whom you workED with)
There are internet cafes everywhere, you can use a computer for around 10 pesos an hour. Of course, there is free wi-fi all over Merida too. There are signs near those parks. Also some hotels have wi-fi, VIPS and The Italian Coffee company do too. You will have an easier time of it in Merida than nob.
See you soon!
regards,
Theresa
Bon voage, and regards to all the bloggers that entertain us "commenters"
BTW is that photo Howard Hughes?
Please send us a picture of you with a newspaper dated from Mexico. Then we can all breathe a sigh of relief, and say, Yes, Steve is in Mexico. Seriously, enjoy the journey.
Bon voyage, Señor! And have fun at the Blogger's conference! :)
I have toured many of the Mayan ruins in the Yucatan. Hope you will post some pictures for us.

Ekbalam north of Valladolid is worth the stop if your in a rental car. Take your lunch in Valladolid, a pretty nice town on its own, it's a half hour drive north to Ekbalam. The site is a small one but the plaster work is some of the best I have come across in Maya land. The site can be seen in an hour or two.
I think your going to like Yucatan.
Looking forward to reports from the BIG TAMALE. Surely they will hook you up with Internet at a Blogger's Convention.
